WHAT DO BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION SESSIONS ADDRESS?
Behavior modification sessions are best for dogs dogs with behaviors arising from frustration, fear, aggression and over arousal. Dogs that have behaviors like separation anxiety, leash aggression, fear of strangers, poor social skills, problems with being touched, resource guarding, or just seem out of control can benefit from behavior modification sessions.
Usually, it is clear that these dogs would not be able to cope well with a class environment, and that training basic obedience behaviors is not going to fix the problem you are having. If you are on the fence, we can help you decide which training options are right for you and your dog.
HOW DO BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION SESSIONS WORK?
The first session will typically be 2 hours, and follow ups 1 hour. Most clients meet every other week, but scheduling is flexible to meet your needs. There is no requirement to purchase multiple sessions, and in many cases, you will have the skills you need to work on your dog’s behavior in 2 to 5 sessions. These sessions include follow up notes after each session, and access to your trainer by phone or email for troubleshooting behaviors addressed in your session. Your Delighted Dog Training Academy trainer and behavior consultant will provide handouts to accompany the information provided in your session.
Behavior modification is available at Delighted Dog Training Academy, in your home, or another site (ie groomer, vet, the dog park). Minimum session time is 60min.
